NIC® Ceiling-mounted radiant system
Prefabricated radiant air-conditioning system for the heating and cooling of rooms, applicable to both ceiling and wall, in both the false ceiling and double wall models, with the additional function of heat insulating building finishing component.
The panels are fastened by means of standard metal profiles for gypsum board panels positioned in such a way as to guarantee the fitting, between one panel and the next, of the linear manifolds for supplying the internal circuits of the panels themselves: The linear manifolds are made of multilayer Ø 20x2 mm piping with oxygen barrier and include the fittings with one-sided or two-sided coupling for the connection of the Ø 8x1 mm pipes in PEX-C with oxygen barrier to the circuits inside the panels.
The final finish of the radiant surface must be carried out following the standard procedure for gypsum board panels (filling in and reinforcing of the joints with tape or paper, impregnating agent and final coat consisting of painting, decorating with a spatula etc.)
NIC® is, first and foremost, a simple, rational, efficient and cost-effective solution for dry masonry radiant panels in the modern building industry that realizes new structures and carries out renovation works.
NIC® has both a design engineering and building function inasmuch as it integrates the thermal insulation and replaces the plaster, while providing the necessary spaces for housing the electrical and hydraulic systems.
NIC® can be easily applied during renovation work as it is quick and easy to install and does not require the intervention of masons but simply of gypsum board installers or decorators.
Additionally, NIC® considerably reduces construction times at the worksite as well as keeping them cleaner due to the fact that there is no need to cut grooves in the walls, with relative refurbishing, for the purpose of laying the electrical and plumbing systems. NIC® also does away with the need for bulky conventional air-conditioning equipment (radiators, fan convectors).
NIC® can be applied to the ceiling and false ceiling and, being self-balancing, does not require hydraulic balancing. The panels are fastened to the building structures after having been screwed onto normal metal, gypsum board profiles.
All the hydraulic connections between circuits and manifolds of the linear distribution lines are made with quick coupling fittings so that the supply lines can be assembled rapidly. Thanks to the "linear manifolds" placed next to the panels, it is possible to create a parallel hydraulic coupling of the individual modules connected, so as to keep the head loss constant, even if the event of the connected modules varying. It is therefore advantageous as it simplifies system start-up.
Moreover, all the insulated distribution lines (pre-isolated) are contained within the thickness of the insulating material + the 27 mm profile, requiring therefore an overall thickness of 69 mm.
NIC® can also be wall-mounted.
